Player & TV app
The Signagio player is the app running on your display device. It is responsible for downloading the published screen package and rendering zones and playlists.
First run / pairing
On first launch (or when not paired), the app shows a code or pairing flow. You enter that code (or complete the flow) in the admin when creating a screen.
Playback
- Layout determines how many zones appear and their geometry.
- Each zone runs its playlist in a loop (slides with duration).
- Supported media types (image, video, YouTube, website, clock, weather, RSS) render inside zones according to the published configuration.
Updates
After you publish in the admin, the player fetches updates on a schedule. You do not need to manually sideload content for normal operation.
Display hours
If the screen uses scheduled display hours and the current time is outside the allowed window, the player may show a black / standby screen with a short message instead of playlists. It rechecks periodically so playback resumes when the window opens.
No content / errors
If nothing is published or zones are empty, the player shows a standby message. Long-press (where implemented) may open diagnostics such as device code, screen id, and last sync—useful for support.
