Screens, layouts & zones

A screen in Signagio represents one physical display (or one player output). Each screen has metadata, a layout, and one or more zones that each play a playlist.

Screen list

From Screens you can:

  • Search by name, device code, or tags
  • Filter by layout or schedule state
  • Select multiple screens for bulk publish or bulk assign of shared display-hour groups
  • See last seen / online-style status (device recently checked in or offline)

Create or edit a screen

  • Name — friendly label
  • Orientation — horizontal (landscape) or vertical (portrait); affects layout previews and aspect ratios
  • Device code — required when creating a screen; links the TV app to this record
  • Tags — comma-separated labels for organisation and search

Layouts and zones

Opening layout for a screen lets you:

  1. Pick a layout template (e.g. full screen, split, four quadrants, main + sidebar + bottom feed).
  2. Assign a playlist to each zone (numbered regions on the preview).

Layouts are designed to match common aspect ratios (e.g. 4∶3 landscape vs 3∶4 portrait). Changing layout may change the number of zones—you’ll assign playlists again as needed.

Preview & publish

Preview shows how zones and playlists will look when published. Publish pushes the current configuration to the player (subject to your subscription).

Schedule publish

You can set a future date and time for content to go live. This is separate from display hours (when the screen is allowed to show content during the week).

Display hours

Configure when the screen may show playlists (always on, shared schedule group, or custom weekly hours). See Display hours.

Delete a screen

Deleting removes the screen and its zone configuration from the account and unpublishes from the device side according to product behaviour. Confirm carefully—recovery may not be possible.
